Africa's richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote has pledged the sum of N200million to support Government to combat Coronavirus; code named Covid-19 spread in Nigeria.

The billionaire made the donation through his Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF) as support to the Federal Government to contain the spread of the deadly virus in the country.

The Chief Executive Officer, of Aliko Dangote Foundation, Ms. Zouera Youssoufou, in a statement on Tuesday in Lagos, disclosed that the donation was part of the Foundation’s cardinal objective.

Youssoufou said that the foundation had support for facilities that would assist prevent, assess and respond to health events at Points of Entry to ensure National Health Security, valued at N124million.

According to her, the foundation's support also include surveillance and epidemiology, where facilities worth N36 million will be provided by the foundation to support the government’s effort.

The CEO also recalled that, the Aliko Dangote Foundation had committed about N1 billion to the fight against Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in Africa.
