Confusion in APC Benin over Obaseki’s alleged move to join PDP; Gov Makinde reacts as Appeal Court sacks him

The opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Edo State Chapter, has disowned a group, known as PDP Integrity Group, which claimed to have suspended some prominent members of the party over their alleged anti-party activities.

Those allegedly suspended by the Integrity Group were former Foreign Affairs Minister, Chief Tom Ikimi, former Chief of Staff to the President, Chief Mike Oghiadohme and former Minister of Works, Arch. Mike Onolememen.

Gov Makinde reacts as Appeal Court sacks him

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has reacted to the Appeal Court judgement on the application filed by the governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Adebayo Adelabu.

The Court of Appeal sitting in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Monday, set aside the tribunal judgement which dismissed the petition brought to the court by Adelabu, challenging Makinde’s victory in the March 9 governorship election.

Imo Election: See What court decided on Ihedioha’s victory

The Appeal Court sitting in Abuja, on Monday, reserved judgment in three separate appeals challenging the victory of Emeka Ihedioha in the March 9 governorship election in Imo State.

The five member panel presided over by Justice Oyebisi Omoleye, announced that judgment in the three appeals would be delivered on a date to be communicated to parties.

Following the perceived lingering crisis between Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and President Muhammadu Buhari, a former presidential aide, Umar Sani, has said that the number two citizen might soon be stripped off of his constitutional duties.

In an exclusive interview with Legit.ng, Sani, who was a former senior special assistant to ex-vice president Namadi Sambo, said some of the events that unfolded in the last few days pointed to the fact that Osinbajo has been cowed by some powerful people in the Aso Villa.
