Ex-aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri has confirmed that his former principal did not cast his ballot in favour of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, during the governorship election held on Saturday.

This is against the speculation that the former President, who obviously did not show his support for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate, Douye Diri, voted for the APC candidate, David Lyon.

APC set to win Bayelsa guber election, as it extends lead

The ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), governorship candidate in Bayelsa Governorship election, Mr David Lyon has maintained an unassailable lead in the governorship polling 128, 803 votes in his home local government, Southern Ijaw against Senator Douye Diri who polled 4,878.

Lyon who has now won five out of seven local governments with only Ekeremor left is tipped to win the Bayelsa governorship election.

The final announcement of the governorship election results in Bayelsa has commenced.

Bayelsa has eight local government areas and the results from each of the local governments would be announced individually at the INEC secretariat in Yenagoa.

Kogi decides: ‘This is helicopter election’ – Senator Dino Melaye rejects result, reveals how APC rigged

The main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senatorial candidate for Kogi West, Senator Dino Melaye, has described Saturday’s election as an ‘helicopter election.’

The lawmaker who spoke to Channels TV, said the result released by INEC is ‘fictitious.

Rejecting the results of the election, Melaye added that the election was marred by massive violence and rigging.
