A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Lanre Razak, has expressed the hope that national leader of the party, Bola Tinubu, would succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

Razak, a former Lagos state commissioner for transport and a member of the APC Governors’ Advisory Council (GAC), told The Nation newspaper in an interview that Tinubu is the best person for the job.

Atiku Abubakar sends message to Goodluck Jonathan

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last general election, Atiku Abubakar, has congratulated ex-President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, as he marks his 62nd birthday on Wednesday.

I’m ready to die – Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, on Tuesday said not even the fear of death could stop him from raising his voice whenever there is a need to do so as an elder statesman in Nigeria and Africa as a whole.

Obasanjo disclosed this at a two-day interactive session of the Presidential Youth Mentorship Retreat, held at the Youth Development Centre, Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

The Owu-born octogenarian said God has favoured him to live long after serving as military head of state and as democratically-elected president of the country.

Two PDP lawmakers sacked by Appeal court

The Court of Appeal sitting in Kaduna, on Tuesday sacked two Kaduna State House of Assembly members.

The appellate court ordered that a rerun be conducted by INEC to determine who will represent Kagarko and Sanga constituencies in the state assembly.

In Kagarko, the appellate court ordered for a rerun in 22 polling units located in two wards of the constituency.

In the judgement read by Justice Daniel Kaliop, the appellate court affirmed the earlier ruling of the state assembly election Tribunal in respect of Kagarko constituency......READ MORE>>>

How Presidency traced ex-cleaner who returned millions of dollars

After some commentators on Social Media trolls made a jest of a Nigerian woman who discovered over N40m on different occasions at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport and returned same, a Nigerian drew the attention of the Presidency to her case and proposed a national recognition and award to honour her and encourage Nigerians to be honest.

The proposal eventually became a reality Tuesday morning at the Presidential Villa when President Muhammadu Buhari presented the Integrity Award to Mrs Jospehine Ugwu alongside another Nigerian man – a Customs officer, Bashir Abubakar, who had rejected a 412,000 dollars (N150 million) bribe offered to him by drug traffickers to import 40 containers laden with Tramadol – a controlled and highly addictive drug.

According to Temilade Okesanjo, the Executive Director, Woodford Consulting Firm, who stumbled on Ugwu’s pathetic story on Instagram and a Television programme, “the recognition will lift the woman out of poverty and encourage more Nigerians to always display a high level of integrity in their dealings irrespective of their status”........READ MORE>>>
