SERAP writes Minister over failed $460m CCTV project
Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has sent a request on the back of Freedom of Information (FoI) right to Zainab Ahmed, Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, asking her to urgently furnish it with information on the total amount of money expended to contractors from the $460 million loan obtained in 2010 from China to fund the apparently failed Abuja Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) contract.
In the letter, SEEAP has noted that the Federal Government has continued to pay the loan.
SERAP urged the Minister to “disclose specific details of local contractors, if any, that have received funds from the loan for the CCTV contract, reportedly awarded to China’s ZTE Corporation, as well as the implementation status of the project.”..........READ FURTHER HERE>>>

President Buhari set to travel to Saudi Arabia
President Muhammadu Buhari is reportedly set to depart Abuja on Monday for Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to attend the third edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) organised by Saudi’s Public Investment Fund (PIF).
According to a Presidency source, the event with the theme ‘What’s Next for Global Business?’ holds from October 29 to 31, and will focus on three key pillars: Sustainable Future, Technology for Good and Advanced Society.
The statement added that, the three-day event will be held under the patronage of King Salman bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia and chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz.
President Buhari will take advantage of the occasion to talk about the economic opportunities that abound in Nigeria and the effectiveness of his administration’s policies to improve the business environment & woo investors to the country.............
