Anne Hathaway Pranks People With Fake Baby Names

  • Anne Hathaway, who is currently pregnant with her second child, is keeping the unborn baby's name under wraps.

  • The actress revealed on Live With Kelly And Ryan that she instead likes to prank people by telling them fake "beautiful-sounding" baby names

  • She jokingly told someone that her second baby's name will be Africa Bronx Shulman.

Anne Hathaway has another Hathababy on the way , and she and husband Adam Shulman are keeping the baby's name on the DL. So, when people ask the couple if they have any names in mind, Anne revealed on Live With Kelly And Ryan Friday morning one of her, uh, creative tactics to keep it a secret. Apparently, she likes to prank people by telling them weird, totally-made-up baby names.

With her first child, Jonathan (who's now 3 years old), she tried "to come up with names that are beautiful-sounding but will make other people intensely uncomfortable," and now, she's back at it again with Baby No. 2. "With Jonathan, we came up with the name Quandr," Anne said. "And then you correct them, and they never get it right."

Though some peoplelike, ya know, her and her husband's familydon't believe her, she said the trick is "really intense, sincere eye contact." "You dont look away, and you dont blink," Anne went on to explain. "And you have to watch them just squirm."

Talk show host Ryan Seacrest said that it's a way to "wind people up," and Anne agreed that it's not her kindest move. She also purposefully mixes up the due dates, per an interview with James Corden, according to People .

"Its really cruel, but I enjoy it so much," Anne said. "Everyones so sincere about it and happy for you and being nice to you and all those things, so I like to twist that."

The night before her morning talk show appearance, someone asked about her new baby's name. Her answer? "Were actually going with Africa Bronx Shulman." Anne put an extra emphasis on the first syllable, stretching it out to sound like "Ahh."

The person's reaction? Shock and disbelief, according to Anne's reenactment on Live With Kelly And Ryan. (Tbh, same.)
