PDP Federal Lawmaker Sacked By Tribunal

Hon. Bamidele Salam's election as the representative of Ede Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives has been nullified by the Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

According to media reports, the decision was made on Monday.

Mr Salam is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

According to Punch Newspaper, the tribunal cancelled elections in some units across four local government areas of the constituency as a result of over-voting.

The panel also ordered a rerun in the units.

In his reaction, Mr Salam in a telephone interview with PREMIUM TIMES on Monday afternoon said he rejected the decision of the tribunal.

Salam, however, told our correspondent that next step will be made known after consulting his legal representatives.

“We are discussing with our lawyers and certainly, the next line of action will be taken after due consultation with my lawyer. Of cause, we reject the judgement but what we are going to doing next we be determined after consultation with my lawyer,” he said on phone.
