Country singer Kylie Rae Harris passed away on Wednesday night at the age of 30. She was involved in a three-vehicle car accident on State road 522 in New Mexico with one other fatality, E! News reported.
Kylie's publicist confirmed the news in a statement to Billboard : "We are heartbroken to confirm that Kylie Rae Harris passed away in a car accident last night. We have no further details to share, and ask for privacy for her family at this time. Everyone that knew Kylie knew how much she loved her family and, beyond that, how much she loved music. The best tribute to her unmatched enthusiasm for both is to spread as much love as you can today, and listen to music that fully inspires you."
The country singer/songwriter had driven from her home in Texas to New Mexico for the Big Barn Dance Music Festival, where she was set to perform. Kylie released her latest album earlier this year, including a song she wrote for her 6-year-old daughter, Corbie, "Twenty Years From Now."
Kylie filmed and shared videos to Instagram Stories along her drive on Wednesday. The Texan reminisced about family trips to the area and got emotional on camera. She said, "I spent the last 20 years of my life coming to Taos with my dad, my sisters, my grandparents lived here, my uncle still lives here. Literally everybody that was here has passed away, except for my uncle, including my dad. Driving these roads today... I started getting really sad"
Our thoughts are with Kylie's family and friends.
