Tracy Ije: I started a while back, but I decided to go professional July 30th 2018.

NollywoodTimes: WHAT IS YOUR BRAND NAME?
Tracy Ije: It is Tracy Ije, a combination of my English and traditional name. It is a simple merge of both names.

NollywoodTimes: WHAT DRIVES YOU?
Tracy Ije: Firstly, I am passionate about entertainment, I love to act and sing a lot. In fact I write my songs myself. I am also a script writer, I feel very happy doing these things. This is why I believe that anything that makes you happy is worth doing well.

NollywoodTimes: WHAT PROJECTS HAVE YOU BEEN WORKING ON?
Tracy Ije: I have been working on a movie recently, although it is still under the wraps, it is called “MIND YOUR BUSINESS” and I will be performing a role in the movie. I am also the producer of the movie.

NollywoodTimes: YOU’RE QUITE THE MULTITASKER!

NollywoodTimes: DESCRIBE YOUR SOUND?
Tracy Ije: I do a bit of Afro dance and Hip-hop and at times I add a bit of Reggae. It is something I love doing, so I can do any kind as long as its music. But right now I focus on Afro dance, hall and hip-hop songs

NollywoodTimes: HOW MANY SINGLES HAVE YOU RELEASED?
Tracy Ije: Uhm, so far so good, I have five released currently. All of my songs have my Igbo dialect infused in them, it shows my traditional side. My favourite especially is titled “not my headache”, I also really like “back to sender.

NollywoodTimes: WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR INSPIRATION FROM?
Tracy Ije: Things that happen around me. Often times, I just go out to watch the people’s interaction in general. The weather and nature inspire me as well.

NollywoodTimes: WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT BEING AN ENTERTAINER?
Tracy Ije: *Laughs* I enjoy making people happy, I enjoy performing and people are happy, laughing and getting excited. It makes me feel really happy and fulfilled. When I get to my private place and reminisce, it gives me a sense of fulfillment.

NollywoodTimes: WHAT IS THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE FOR YOU AS AN ENTERTAINER?
Tracy Ije: Wow, challenges, sure there are a few. I would say production is a big challenge. Sometimes you envision somethings with your sound when composing in your private time but the beat you get from producers do not depict what you originally had in mind or what you are expecting. There are so many things, but I will stop here because it is the most pressing and I am working hard to make this problem extinct. I would like my beat sounding so excellent, so when people listen, it would make them feel good. So I find it very challenging.

NollywoodTimes: DO YOU DISLIKE SOMETHINGS ABOUT THE ENTERTAINMENT WORLD?
Tracy Ije: I really don’t think I hate anything about the entertainment industry.

NollywoodTimes: IF YOU COULD CHANGE ANYTHING ABOUT THE INDUSTRY, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Tracy Ije: As an industry we need to have a media friendly environment. The entertainment industry does not have a place for production display, we can call our own. Most artistes tend to travel outside the country to produce their stuff. Friendly environments are needed to help us showcase our stuff. Going all that way to the United States to just shoot a video, when we can develop our own country and make it better, does not make sense to me.
