The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will be a live-action series following Sam Wilson (aka Falcon) and Bucky Barnes (aka the Winter Soldier). The two are both friends of Steve Rogers-Captain America-and they've appeared together in films like Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Civil War, and Avengers: Infinity War. While the characters have clashed in the past, the duo are friendly now-both on and off the screen .
There haven't been any specific plot points announced yet, and we also don't know where this show takes place in the Marvel timeline.
Who's in the cast of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier?
Our Men's Health July/August cover star, Anthony Mackie, will reprise his role as Falcon, and Sebastian Stan will return as the Winter Soldier. Deadline reports that Daniel Bruhl and Emily Van Camp will also join the cast.
Bruhl appeared in Captain America: Civil War as Helmut Zemo, a super villain who pitted Iron Man and Captain America against each other. Van Camp played Sharon Carter in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War. Carter is also known as S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Agent 13. Additionally, she's Peggy Carter 's great-niece, which is why no one understands why she and Captain America kissed during Civil War...but I digress.
When will The Falcon and The Winter Soldier premiere?
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will premiere on Disney+ in August 2020. As ComicBook.com reports, Sebastian Stan confirmed that filming for the series will begin in October 2019. Some outlets have reported that the show will be a limited series or a miniseries, but Disney and Marvel haven't confirmed that.
