New Kindle Just Launched By Amazon, No Need To Carry Paperback Again!

Amazon has launched a brand new, refined version of its top-level Kindle e-reader.

The new Kindle Oasis improves on the previous model by adding an adjustable ‘warm’ light for reading in the dark.

The company isn’t trying to challenge the iPad or even your phone with this new gadget. It wants to make sure you never need to pick up a paperback again.

‘The all-new Kindle Oasis includes everything customers loved from the previous generation, including the large 7-inch display, waterproofing (IPX8), and Audible—and now we’re making it even better,’ said Eric Saarnio, the head of Amazon’s devices in the EU. ‘We’re adding an adjustable warm light so customers can read with a warmer tone that’s customisable to their preference to easily transition from daytime to nighttime reading.’

The new Kindle Oasis has a 300 pixel-per-inch e-ink display so it’s easier on the eyes than a traditional screen. However, it’s still no easier on the wallet as it keeps the previous version’s expensive pricing.

It costs £229.99 for the 8GB version and £259.99 for the 32GB version. You can also add free cellular connectivity (meaning you can buy books from Amazon without having to connect to WiFi) to the 32GB model for £319.99.
