President Muhammed Buhari |
The suit to stop President Muhammed Buhari's inauguration by the Hope Democratic Party (HDP) and its Presidential Candidate, Mr Ambrose Aworu, was dismissed on Thursday by the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal.
Justice Joseph Ikyechi, in a lead judgement, dismissed the application for lack of merit.
According to the reports, President Buhari, the All Progressives Congress, (APC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), were respondents in the suit.
The HDP had in its suit said it will be unfair and unjust to inaugurate President Buhari for a second term on the ground that the validity of the election that produced him has been challenged at the tribunal, Daily Post reports.
