Josiah Jesse Ransome-Kuti is described by Wikipedia as a Nigerian clergyman and music composer.
He was known for setting Christian hymns to indigenous music, and for writing Christian hymns in Yoruba.
He recorded Yoruba hymns in gramophone & released them in 1925 under Zonophone Records, known today as Warner Music Group.
His album is in the British Museum. He is the grandfather of afrobeat legend fela Anikulakpo Kuti.
