APC Crisis: Imo APC Says Okorocha Suspension ‘null and void’, Demands Resignation Of Oshiomhole

Rochas Okorocha and Adams Oshiomhole

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State has dismissed the suspension of governor Rochas Okorocha by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party led by Adams Oshiomhole.

The party says Oshiomhole who is known for disobeying rule of law had trod same path by not following the party’s constitution in the purported suspension.

The state chairman of the party, Daniel Nwafor who addressed a press conference in Owerri on Saturday, said the suspension of both Okorocha and his Ogun State counterpart, Ibikunle Amosun was null and void.

Nwafor maintained that the party will not respect the decision of the NWC and called for the resignation of Oshiomhole as the National Chairman of the party.

He said “I am here with the APC chairman from Ogboko ward where the governor hails from. There was no letter from the NWC to him to query the governor for any offence.

“The truth is that Oshiomhole is a man who has no respect for rule of law. He has a penchant for disobeying valid court judgments and orders.

“We demand his immediate resignation from APC. Adams Oshiomhole has outlived his usefulness in APC. As a party, we will not honour that purported suspension. It is null and void and of no effect. Governor Rochas Okorocha remains the leader of APC in Imo state.”

He added that the governorship candidate of the party in the state, Senator Hope Uzodinma was unknown to members of the party and as such could not win the support of the party.
