Philip Amoateng, Managing Director for Vodacom Lesotho, says that hundreds of thousands of Basotho, despite high rates of unemployment, have found ways to build thriving businesses that use the power of Facebook. Thousands more have developed and built meaningful relationships both in and outside of Lesotho to further enrich their lives.
Vodacom is excited about the prospect that this partnership with Facebook will allow them to reach even further down the economic chain and encourage more Basotho to get onto the Facebook platform and to become first-time users of the internet.
“We at Vodacom are extremely passionate about giving Basotho the best possible tools for them to lead successful and fulfilling lives, using our network and the tools we can provide, to make their lives easier,” says Amoateng. “This partnership is one of the many ways in which we hope to achieve that.”
