Nollywood filmmaker Tope Oshin won several awards at the 2018 Best Of Nollywood awards with her movie, ‘We Don’t Live Here Anymore.’

Tope Oshin has reacted to the homophobic attack on Empire star, Jussie Smollet, saying it was why she made the movie, ‘We Don’t Live Here Anymore.’

In a Twitter post by Oshin, hours after the attack on Smollet was reported, the filmmaker described the incident as a sad one while mentioning that a scene similar to the attack was in her film.

Oshin further described the incidence as ‘the ugliness and consequences of meaningless hatred.’

‘We Don’t Live Here Anymore,’ was adjudged the best movie of 2018 by the Best Of Nollywood awards after it picked up 10 nominations.

The movie also won Best Director, Best Editing and award for the most promising male act.
