JUST IN: Buhari Suspends Justice Onnoghen, Appoints New CJN

Justice Walter Samuel Nkanu Onnoghen

The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Samuel Nkanu Onnoghen, has been suspended by President Muhammadu Buhari.

This was disclosed by the President’s media aide, Bashir Ahmad on his official Twitter handle.

President Buhari has immediately appointed Mr. Ibrahim Tanko Muhammed as acting CJN.

Bashir Ahmad wrote: “President Buhari suspends the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Walter Samuel Nkanu Onnoghen and appoints Mr. Ibrahim Tanko Muhammed as acting CJN.”
