Ben Bruce Attacks Magu Over Freezing Of Peter Obi's Bank Accounts

The alleged freezing of the Bank accounts belonging to Peter Obi, former Governor of Anambra State  and current vice-presidential candidate of the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic party, PDP, has attracted wide spread condemnation.

In a statement on social media, Senator Ben Bruce condemned the move, accusing the Federal government of 'Anti-democratic attacks'. He also took a swipe at the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, accusing him of being partisan. He wrote;

"All of a sudden Peter Obi, the most honest and prudent Governor Nigeria ever produced is a suspect whose account is frozen? They can’t even be intelligent and subtle in their anti democratic attacks.

How can Nigeria and the international community expect the same EFCC whose chairman wears a Buhari re-election lapel pin to be neutral?"
