Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has handed the affairs of the State to his deputy as he proceeds on a 10-day working leave.
The 10-day working leave, which will form part of the Governor’s annual leave, is expected to terminate on October 31, 2018.
This development was contained in a letter of notification to the Benue State House of Assembly, the Governor stated that his Deputy, Engineer Benson Abounu will act as Governor of the State, in line with Section 190 of the Country’s Constitution.
He therefore urged the State House of Assembly to accord the Deputy Governor every support and cooperation within the period.
