The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials were pictured in Taraba River crossing PVC materials to a community as part of efforts to ensure that more Nigerians participate in the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise before the August 14 deadline.
The officials had to cross the river to enable INEC reach eligible voters in Kurmi Local Government Area in Taraba State.
In a Twitter tweet via INEC's official handle, @inecnigeria, the officials were pictured carrying a motorcycle, as they waded across the river.

From all indications, despite calls from different quarters asking INEC to extend the deadline for registration, the "last lap" emphasis in the recent tweet by INEC, points to the fact that the deadline may not be extended.
