The Nigerian Army has disclosed that it has rescued and reunited some children who were kidnapped by Boko Haram two years ago, with their parents.
According to the the Army, Director of Public Relations, Texas Chukwu, in a statement, said troops of 22 Brigade rescued four children – two boys and two girls – at Maima village in Ngala local government area of Borno State during an operation.
The Director Army Public Relations Officer, said the children were currently receiving treatment at a health facility of the military.
Mr Texas Chukwu also added that 36 hand grenade was recovered during the operation.“Troops of 22 brigade deployed in operation Lafiya Dole have reunited children abducted two years ago by Boko Haram terrorists with their parents at Ngafure village in Dikwa local government area of Borno state,” the statement read.
The troops rescued the hostages, two boys and two girls during a clearance operation at Maima village in Ngala local government area of the state.
“A 36 hand grenade was also recovered during the operation. The rescued hostages are currently receiving medical attention at the military health facilities,” he added.
The Army spokesman reaffirmed, that the Nigeria Army is highly commited to rescuing all those held captive by the insurgents.
