The Premium Times Reporter, Samuel Ogundipe, who is currently being held by the police over an alleged publishing of a report seem to be having some relief as one Mr Mukhtar Dan'Iyan, also known as Mr Aye Dee, has claimed to be the source of information to the detained Premium Times Reporter.

According to Mukhtar Dan'Iyan, a Public Policy and Security Analyst who revealed via his Twitter handle, said that he supplied the detained Premium Times Reporter, Samuel Ogundipe, with the Inspector General's letter to the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo on DSS National Assembly blockade.

The Premium Times Reporter, Samuel Ogundipe was arrested Tuesday by SARS operatives in Abuja and was taken to the IGP Monitoring Unit at Force Headquarters after he refused to disclose his source of information in a recent story by him.

According to the Police, the story was about the preliminary report on DSS National Assembly blockade, by IGP Idris to Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo.

The report by Samuel Ogundipe, published on Premium Times, Mr Idris was quoted as saying that Mr Daura was working for some Politicians for selfish interest, but did not give the names of the Politicians.

In the report, Mr Idris was allegedly quoted to have added that Mr Daura did not consult with other security agencies before ordering the blockade, and questioned the validity of a security report that allegedly anticipated a violence at the parliament.

Premium Times disclosed that following Samuel Ogundipe arrest, his Ecobank account was allegedly frozen in an attempt to frustrate him, the report added.

However the PT Journalist, Samuel Ogundipe has refused to give away the source of his information as allowed by journalism ethics, neither has he confirmed Mr Aye Dee's claim to be his source.
