The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), which is the mainstream opposition party has structured a new alliance with more than 30 other political parties in the country.
The parties came together on Monday, July 9 in Abuja to make a public announcement that its new name will be Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP).
The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by the leaders for the amalgamating parties, in their bid to defeat President Muhammadu Buhari’s All Progressives Congress (APC), prompted an announcement intimating the public of the successful amalgamating.
Contained in the MOU is the agreement to mobilise support for consensus candidates at the centre, states, and the Legislative arm of government.Credit: Channelstv
