Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Nigeria's former president, has resumed work at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), as a students facilitator at the institution’s Abeokuta Study Centre in Ogun State.
The 81-year-old ex-Nigeria president, today met with first two final-year undergraduate students of Christian Theology, assigned to him by the university for supervision.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Abdalla Adamu, had soon after the former president’s graduation with PhD in January, appointed him as a Facilitator.
According to the University, a Facilitator is a part-time academic coordinator for students in the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) system which the open universities operate.It could be recalled that Chief Obasanjo, was awarded his PhD certificate in Christian Theology during NOUN’s 7th Convocation ceremony earlier this year in Abuja, and he was the first PhD graduate of the university.
