The challenges facing the new Peoples Democratic Party, popularly called nPDP, leaders in the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, to get solid political foundation in the APC ahead of the 2019 elections are running into brick walls and according to the Vanguard, this development could lead to discouragement as would be seen in few weeks.

It could be recalled that there had been speculations that the nPDP were making some strategic moves to go back to the PDP, but this seems to be facing a lot of resistance especially from their local strongholds.

The prominent faces of nPDP is made up of politicians who moved from the PDP before the 2015 elections and merged with the APC.

The group, officially led by Alhaji Kawu Baraje, has lately complained of marginalization and persecution within the APC, with the vow to show its strength if rebuffed by the APC leadership and President Muhammadu Buhari.
