Fayemi's Strong Supporter Olawuyi Aiyegoro Assassinated Just 30 Days Before Election In Ekiti

Dr. Kayode Fayemi the Ekiti governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress(APC) for July 14 election, has lost his henchman, who has been assassinated in Ado-Ekiti just 30 days before election.

It was reported that the APC stalwart by name Olawuyi Aiyegoro (Willy) was shot by unknown gunmen at Atikankan area of Ado-Ekiti and he died early this morning.

The death of Aiyegoro's has been making rounds in the social media with his friends and colleagues in serious shock.

Odewale very close friend wrote this on his Facebook page:

They have killed one of my loyalists! My friend and comrade-at-arms. One of the few whose loyalty was never in doubt, in or out of sight, and never needed to be tested. Adieu

I am yet to get the full details of your death but it’s painful enough to draw me out of my social media hiatus. Your rude passage is too close to home for me and I dare say that you will be sorely missed.

You have been with me on the political journey and not once have you flinched. Your were there for the long haul. Not once have you voiced any hesitation to the path taken or to the roles assigned to you. Your loyalty is nonpareil and I am not sure I can build our kind of bond with anyone in your ilk.

Willy, you left unannounced. Who will pester me again? Who will always demand to see me even when sometimes inconvenient? You understood me very well that even when I thought I was managing you, you were really the one managing me. You were never angry with me. You knew I had your best interest at heart always and you totally deferred to me.

You were loyal to the very end!

Adieu my friend and comrade-at-arms, Olawuyi Aiyegoro. I definitely cannot finish a tribute to you in one sitting...
