APC Dass Endorses Mannaseh, As They Pass Vote Of No Confidence On Dogara - Ahead Of 2019

The news of the ruling All Progressives Congress Dass endorsing the candidature of Mr Godfrey Mannaseh to take the place of the current House of Representative Speaker, Yakubu Dogara for member representing the Dass, Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro constituency as 2019 election approaches, was released last Saturday.

The APC Dass has restated that it has passed a no confidence vote on speaker Dogara as the constituent’s representative.

Mr Haruna Rikaya, APC Chairman Bogoro, Mallam Zubairu from Dass and Wakili Amadi Deputy Chairman Tafawa Balewa respectively made the statements Saturday following Manasseh's declaration of intention to contest for the House of Reps.

The party disclosed that their decision was informed by an alleged move of Hon. Dogara to impeach President Buhari and that their motive is to defend democracy.

”APC cannot afford to keep Dogara as its candidate for reps ahead of 2019 election. His recent alleged move to truncate democracy through Buhari’s impeachment is a clear indication of lack of justice,” the Chairmen stated.

The party further emphasised that it did not elect Dogara under its fold to politically fight the president, nor Governor Abubakar on whose popularity he won election in 2015.

” From today, APC in Dass, Bogoro and Tafawa Balewa federal constituency have unanimously endorsed Mr Mannaseh as we no longer have confidence on the speaker,” the Chairmen said.

The party described Mannaseh as a true democrat whose pedigree is a good omen and milestone towards gradual shift in terms of development

The chairmen therefore admonished the constituents not to vote Dogara irrespective of the party he defects to in 2019 election.
