Vigilante Members Avert Tragedy As Female Suicide Bomber Was Overpowered While Trying To Blow Up Mosque

Vigilante Members averted what would have otherwise been a serious tragedy and devastating suicide bomb attack on a mosque in Gashua village in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe state as a female suicide attackers was overpowered and the bomb recovered from her.

The female suicide bomber suspected to be a member of the terrorist group Boko Haram, had successfully infiltrated the mosque, while members were about to commence a prayer session, but was detected when struggling to detonate a suicide vest strapped to her body. She was quickly restrained by the locals, arrested and handed over to troops at Azare.

The Operatives from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Component of Operation(EODCO), Lafiya Dole at the location have safely defused the suicide vest containing more than 16 straps of explosives, while the suicide bomber is currently receiving medical attention following injuries she got during her arrest.
