Peaceful Demonstration By The Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria CBCN - Over Herdsmen Killings

Lagos: Today, being May 22 2018, The Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria CBCN made it mandatory for Catholic faithfuls across the country to go out and march for a peaceful protest.

The announcement was made by the Bishops in the Sunday Bulletin of the church

The announcement, tagged “Peaceful Demonstration,” read thus:

“The CBCN has directed that every Diocese in Nigeria should organise a peaceful demonstration/ rally against the barbaric and intolerable killing of two priests and 17 others by herdsmen last month in Benue State .

It was an open invite to Christians men and women of goodwill .

A mass was held at St. Leo Catholic Church, Ikeja, at 10.00 a.m. and immediately after the mass, A peaceful procession from the church to the Lagos State Governor’s Office at Alausa, Ikeja.

It was a demonstration of solidarity with the victims of the dastardly act of the herdsmen.
