APC, PDP, Youths In A Clash At Benin Airport Over Motion To Impeach Buhari - Free For All Averted By The Police

The All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party youth had a clashed at the Benin Airport concerning the motion moved by Senator Matthew Urhoghide who asked the House of Assembly to invoke Section 143 of the Nigeria’s Constitution on the President.

The prompt intervention of Mr. Babatunde Kokumo, the Commissioner of Police Edo State averted a free for all at the airport.

According to a report by the nationonlineng, the PDP youths were at the airport to give a rousing welcome to Senator Urhoghide for moving the motion for the Senate to begin impeachment proceedings against President Muhammadu Buhari.

The APC supporters who had earlier protested in the streets of Benin City disowning Senator Urhoghide were also at the airport to express disappointment with the motion.

As the tension grew, more supporters besieged the airport either for the APC or the PDP.

Both sides sang anti-Buhari and anti-PDP songs.

CP Babatunde Kukumo had to personally stand between the protesters to prevent a free for all.
