Senate Condemns Demolition Of Kaduna Factional APC Secretariat; Faults El-Rufai
The Senate today condemned the demolition of the secretariat of a faction of the All Progressives Congress in Kaduna State by the state government.
The chamber directed Governor Nasir el-Rufai to either provide a replacement for the secretariat or compensate Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi (Kaduna-North) who is alleged owner of the building.
The Nigerian Upper Chamber came to the resolution following a point of order raised at the plenary on Tuesday by Senator Shehu Sani (Kaduna-Central), who described El-Rufai as “an affliction on the people of Kaduna State.”
However a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Kaduna State, Tom Maiyashi, has restated that the six months suspension passed on the Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai from the party remains in force despite the demolition of senator Hunkuyi’s building.
