President Buhari Withhold Assent To Peace Corps Bill
President Muhammadu Buhari today refused assent to the Peace Corps of Nigeria establishment bill recently sent to him by the National Assembly.
His decision to withhold assent to the bill was contained in a communication to the legislative arm of government today Tuesday, the 27th of February.
Mr. Yakubu Dogara, The Speaker of the House of Representatives read the President's letter to members in plenary.
Some of the reasons the President gave for withholding his assent to the bill is funding and that the organisation is also a duplication of existing security agencies.
