Governor Akinwumi Ambode of Lagos has signed seven bills into law today, but the most important of the bill is the Electricity Power Sector Reform Law which gives legal backing to the Embedded Power Project.

In the words of the Governor, "this bill will help us achieve our electricity generation plan to provide 24-7 uninterrupted electricity supply to Lagosians".
Other bills signed into law today are the Amended Land Use Charge Bill, the School of Nursing Bill, the Cooperative College Bill, the Cancer Research Institute Bill, the Amended Customary Court Bill and the Yoruba Language Preservation bill.
