The Kaduna state governor Naisir El-Rufai is in Lagos to visit Pastor Tunde Bakare, the General Overseer of the Latter Rain Assembly, at the church auditorium, today Sunday.
It could be recalled that the preacher declared his intention to become the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, about a week ago.
Therefore speculations has it that Gov El-Rufai's visit is connected to the Preacher's declaration.El-Rufai, and Pastor Tunde has come a long way. In 2011 he was one of the persons who pleaded with the preacher to run alongside President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Governor entered the church when the Pastor Bakare was in the pulpit preaching. The pastor eventually welcomed the governor with a big hug, and declared“I have missed you… it is a good time to come”.
Pastor Bakare while delivering his sermon had said earlier in the service that all those putting up deliberate sinful silence (DSS) about the killings in Benue would pay for it.
“We cannot keep quiet while hardened murderers and criminals fill our land with the crimes of blood. That would be DSS… deliberate sinful silence, and i think secret service is guilty of that,” he added.
“The brutal murder going on in Benue state and other parts of Nigeria is very attrocious and wicked. There will be consequences of this dastard murder. Every one involved in one way or the other, either overtly or covertly, shall pay for it”
No official statement was released by either of them the reason governor El-Rufai flew in to Lagos on a Sunday afternoon just to make sure he catches up with the preacher.
