Boat Capsizes Under Third Mainland Bridge In Lagos, 19 Passengers Rescued.



Marine Police of the Lagos State Police Command in a joint exertion with Rapid Response Squad at the beginning of today saved 19 travelers of an upset pontoon under the Third Third Mainland Bridge.The Boat, which was carrying 21 travelers inverted at around 10:00 a.m. toward the beginning of today.

An onlooker called the OC Marine Police who instantly sent 7 vessels to the scene.

RRS Helicopters got the directions and activated to the scene, prompting the brisk protection of 19 travelers and recuperation of the cadaver of a lady traveler whose spouse luckily was safeguarded in the episode.

In the interim, Police have captured the director of the inverted vessel after its driver deserted the travelers and fled from the scene of the incident.

The safeguarded travelers alongside the conductor of the overturned vessel have been taken to the Marine Police Office in Keffi, Obalende, Lagos.

The inverted pontoon has similarly been recuperated and taken to Marine Police yard while body of the dead traveler have been saved in Morgue.

Cops on Third Mainland and Oworo Police Division additionally participated in the save operation.
