World Peace day: NANS supports indivisible, united Nigeria

NANS President, Chinonso Obasi
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has expressed support for the continued corporate existence of Nigeria.
NANS President, Mr Chinonso Obasi, conveyed this stance in his message to commemorate the 2017 International Peace Day on Thursday in Abuja.
Obasi commended Nigerian students for their peaceful conduct  in the face of obvious odds and urged them to continue to remain peaceful and law abiding.
“Sustainable peace can only be guaranteed when there is concerted effort and deliberate commitment by all and sundry to foster harmonious and peaceful coexistence.
“Against odds, constructive engagement, dialogue and negotiation remain the only antidote to peace.
“I believe in the sovereignty, indivisibility and unity of Nigeria; more than ever, this is the time for all well-meaning Nigerians to put all hands on deck and collectively work towards building the Nigeria of our dream.
“As the nation faces numerous development challenges, the task of Nation building and sustainable development is a collective responsibility,’’ he said.
The NANS president called on Nigerians to support government at all levels in order to move the nation forward.
The International Peace Day, marked every Sept. 21, was established in 1981 by unanimous UN resolution to provide a globally shared date for all humanity and to commit to peace above all differences.
