President Buhari Commissions Sunti Golden Sugar Estate In Niger State
President Buhari today carried out the official commissioning of Sunti Golden Sugar Estate located in Niger State.
The estate is situated on the banks of River Niger, in Mokwa, occupying 17, 000 hectares of irrigable farmland and a sugar mill that processes 4,500 metric tons of sugarcane per day. The project is considered to be the company’s biggest investment in Nigeria, in the agricultural sector.

The farm project is expected to provide direct employment to over 10,000 people yearly at full production capacity and up to 50,000 people indirectly, including 3,000 small-scale out growers who will be cultivating sugarcane to feed the mill.
