Nollywood actress Nancy Isime has opened up about the intense preparation she underwent to portray Kemi Sanya in the second season of the hit Netflix series Blood Sisters, revealing that she completely withdrew from her normal lifestyle to fully embody the character.

The actress shared her experience in a heartfelt social media post while reflecting on the success of the newly released season.

According to her, stepping into the role required far more than memorising scripts or attending rehearsals. She explained that she deliberately distanced herself from her everyday life and personal routines in order to understand and portray Kemi’s emotions and mindset convincingly.

Nancy disclosed that she spent about a week in isolation before filming commenced and continued to keep to herself during much of the production period.

The actress noted that the process allowed her to disconnect from her real personality and become fully immersed in the character, a commitment she believes contributed to the authenticity viewers are seeing on screen.

She further revealed that the demanding role took a significant toll on her emotionally and mentally. After filming wrapped, she found it difficult to immediately return to work and was unable to accept new acting projects for nearly two months.

According to her, the experience left her feeling drained because she had poured so much of herself into bringing Kemi Sanya to life.

The movie star described acting as more than a profession, saying it remains a calling and a passion that she approaches with seriousness and dedication.

Nancy stressed that she owes it to her supporters, industry colleagues and the creators who entrust her with major roles to always deliver her best performance.

She also expressed gratitude for the overwhelming response from viewers since the release of Blood Sisters 2.

The actress thanked Netflix, EbonyLife Studios, the writers, directors, producers and fellow cast members for creating an environment that enabled her to give her all to the role.

Blood Sisters first premiered in 2022 as Netflix’s first Nigerian original series and quickly became one of the platform’s most talked-about African productions.

The second season has continued to generate attention, with fans praising the performances of both returning and new cast members.

For Nancy Isime, the success of the project serves as confirmation that dedication, sacrifice and commitment to storytelling remain essential ingredients for delivering memorable performances on screen.
