Grief has enveloped friends and associates following the reported death of Denisi, popularly known as Ego222 on Instagram and a close friend of Afrobeats superstar Davido.
The sad news was made public by Joel Heugh Booysen, who took to his Instagram Stories to share emotional tributes alongside photos of himself and the late Denisi. Though he did not reveal the cause of death, his words captured the deep pain left behind by the sudden loss.
“Love you always, my broski.
This one pains me.
Y’all moved countries to dey with me for Southy bro.
My surest guy, u just sorted Southy for us.
You made many brothers for this short while in Southy.
Capetown be crying, brother.
Wake up abeg.”
The touching message paints a picture of a strong friendship and the memories they built together, especially during their time in Cape Town, South Africa.
While Davido has yet to publicly react to the heartbreaking development, the bond between the singer and Denisi was evident. In December, Denisi had proudly celebrated Davido in a post, which the award-winning artist acknowledged at the time.
Denisi’s passing has now left many who knew him reflecting on his loyalty, friendship, and the connections he built during his short but impactful time with those around him.
His death has created a painful void among friends who remember him as a dependable and cherished companion.
