Nigerian singer Harrysong has taken legal steps against his estranged wife, Alexer Peres, following her recent allegations of emotional abuse. The music star, through his legal representatives, issued a cease and desist letter demanding that she retract her claims or face legal consequences.
Alexer made the development public after sharing a screenshot of the legal notice on her Instagram story. According to the document, Harrysong is demanding a public apology from her or payment of N1 billion in damages for what he described as defamatory statements made against him. The letter reportedly gives her a 14-day ultimatum to comply with the demands or risk further legal action, including monetary damages and equitable relief.
The legal move appears to have further escalated tensions between the estranged couple, whose marital issues have played out publicly in recent months. Reacting to the letter, Alexer accused the singer of avoiding direct confrontation while allegedly using people close to him to shape public opinion.

Hiding behind the camera.
Why don’t you use your own page to spread the lies yourself, yet na you still bring another letter for me today, suing me for 1 billion naira if I don’t come out to debunk and apologise after 14 days.
Omo na wa smh,” she wrote.
The legal dispute comes shortly after Alexer released an emotional video announcing her decision to temporarily relinquish custody of their two children. She described the choice as one of the most difficult decisions she has ever made, explaining that years of pressure following her separation from Harrysong had taken a toll on her mental and emotional well-being.
In the video, Alexer accused the singer of constant harassment and interference in her life, alleging that he frequently showed up at her residence without prior notice. She claimed the ongoing situation made it difficult for her to provide a stable environment for the children at the time.
Harrysong, however, has strongly denied the allegations. Responding to her claims, the singer said he deliberately chose to remain silent for a long time in order to protect the mother of his children and, more importantly, their kids. He maintained that he has always been an active and present father who continues to provide for his children.
According to him, the narrative being pushed against his name is deeply painful and could have long-term consequences. He noted that such claims risk damaging the image and career that ultimately support his children’s welfare.
Despite his response, the situation appears far from resolved. In another post, Alexer accused Harrysong of manipulating situations involving their children and using them for public sympathy. The mother of two insisted that she was no longer backing down, declaring her readiness to fight for her children and her truth.
The public fallout is the latest chapter in a turbulent relationship that has been under scrutiny for over a year. Early last year, Alexer hinted that she was preparing to officially end her marriage to the singer. She later confirmed that she had taken the decisive step and described herself as a “free woman.”
The year 2024 proved particularly difficult for Alexer, as her marriage to Harrysong collapsed amid intense public attention. During the same period, she also suffered the loss of her third pregnancy. At the height of their marital crisis, Harrysong accused her of infidelity, alleging that she cheated on him during their marriage, including while she was pregnant.
As both parties continue to trade accusations and legal threats loom, the unfolding drama has drawn widespread attention online, with many observers expressing concern about the impact of the dispute on their children. For now, it remains to be seen whether the legal standoff will lead to a resolution or further public confrontation.
