“I’m Ready to Reconcile” – Phyna Speaks on Davido Fallout

Phyna, former Big Brother Naija winner, has expressed her willingness to reconcile with singer Davido, two years after their public online spat.

The reality star, known for her bold personality, revealed her intentions during a recent livestream, signaling a possible end to the longstanding tension between her and the music superstar.

The feud traces back to October 2023, when Davido liked a post on X (formerly Twitter) that described Phyna’s fanbase as “useless.” 

This action sparked controversy and left Phyna questioning if she had personally done something to warrant the singer’s apparent disdain. 

In response to the post, Phyna congratulated Davido on the birth of his twins with Chioma but also sought clarification on the supposed grievance. Davido, however, claimed he did not know who Phyna was, which only intensified the online tension.

Phyna’s reaction was swift; she replied “God knows me” and unfollowed Davido on Instagram. Since then, the two have had little interaction, and the incident became a topic of discussion among fans and social media users. 

The reality star now says she is ready to publicly apologize to Davido, but she emphasized the importance of first understanding the cause of their fallout.

During her livestream, Phyna elaborated on her position, explaining that she wants a genuine reconciliation. 

“If I have the opportunity to stream with Davido, I will take it,” she said. She admitted that Davido holds seniority in the music industry, acknowledging that he is more established and influential.

 She further explained, “I’m going to tender apology to him, but before rendering the apology, we need to understand where that our quarrel really dey come from.”

Phyna also highlighted the need for clarity regarding the initial incident, suggesting that Davido might have liked the controversial post by mistake. 

“Like baba Ibeji needs to really tell me that na by mistake him take like that comment wey cause probably. 

Then he will now explain his side of the issue because you see that I don’t know you wey baba Ibeji talk, e fit be like say na we take am the wrong way,” she said in pidgin English, reiterating her desire for transparency and mutual understanding.

Fans of both Phyna and Davido have welcomed the possibility of reconciliation, with many hoping the two public figures can finally put the past behind them. 

The gesture also reflects a broader message about resolving misunderstandings and promoting civility on social media, especially among celebrities with significant influence.
