Nollywood actor and filmmaker Lateef Adedimeji has spoken glowingly about the rare honour of hosting Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, on the set of his latest movie project currently filming in Ekiti State.

The award-winning actor described the governor’s visit as a powerful show of solidarity and a major boost to the cast and crew working tirelessly to deliver a culturally rich production.

Taking to his Instagram page to share photos from the visit, Lateef revealed that the presence of the Ekiti State Governor brought renewed motivation to everyone involved in the project, including his wife and creative partner. According to him, the visit goes beyond a courtesy call, as it reflects genuine support for the Nigerian film industry, especially stories rooted in culture, history, and identity.

Lateef noted that the movie is designed to spotlight the resilience, heritage, and cultural depth of the Ekiti people, while also celebrating the broader values and traditions of the Yoruba tribe. He stressed that having a sitting governor personally visit the film location speaks volumes about leadership that values storytelling, creativity, and historical preservation.

Sharing his appreciation, the filmmaker wrote:

“My wife and I, and the entire production crew and cast were deeply honoured by the solidarity visit of His Excellency, Governor Biodun Oyebanji @biodunaoyebanji to the film location sets of our new project in Ekiti State.

His personal visit to the sets and his unwavering support for arts, culture and history reflect visionary leadership and a deep commitment to Ekiti’s heritage. This gesture and encouragement further strengthen our resolve and determination to deliver a world-class production that faithfully tells the story of the resilience and showcases the culture and heritage of the Ekiti people and the entire Yoruba trībe.

We are fully committed to making this historic project a resounding success.

Thank you so much, Your Excellency, for your constant support and for believing in us so much. We appreciate your kindness, selflessness and humility…”

Lateef also extended gratitude to filmmaker Kayode Kasum (ABLE D), alongside the cast and crew, acknowledging their dedication to making the project impactful.
