In the statement released by Addy Awofisayo, YouTube’s Head of Music for Sub-Saharan Africa, the company revealed that both personalities recorded exceptional milestones in 2025, earning standout positions in music and creator categories. Awofisayo emphasized that their achievements reflect Nigerians’ shifting engagement trends, as audiences continue to embrace inspirational music, relatable storytelling, and high-quality local content.


Gaise Baba Leads Nigeria’s Music Charts


The gospel and inspirational music scene witnessed a major surge this year, and Gaise Baba emerged as the dominant force. His breakout track, “No Turning Back II” featuring Lawrence Oyor, claimed the top spot as Nigeria’s most-viewed music video on YouTube in 2025.


The video, released in May, captured the hearts of millions with its message of perseverance and spiritual upliftment. Within six months, it amassed an impressive 41 million views, becoming not just a fan favourite but also one of the fastest-rising gospel releases on the platform. The song’s strong social media presence—fuelled by challenges, worship snippets, and reaction clips—played a major role in boosting its visibility nationwide.
