Veteran Nollywood actress Peju Ogunmola has finally spoken publicly for the first time since the tragic death of her only son, Ayomikun Omobolanle.
The actress, who has been off social media for months, shared an emotional video expressing her pain, gratitude, and renewed strength as she prepares to return to the big screen.
Dressed in a simple black shirt, Ogunmola appeared somber but composed as she opened up about the emotional toll the past two months have taken on her.
She admitted that dealing with the loss pushed her into deep depression but noted that the love and prayers from her fans, friends, and colleagues have helped her find hope again.
“To my dearest fans, family, and supporters across the world, since the past two months that I lost my only son, I’ve been overwhelmed by depression.
But you all have been behind me. I see the love you all show me and I feel your prayers and your love. Thank you, I’m grateful,” she said, her voice breaking with emotion.
The grieving mother went on to express her acceptance of fate, saying she had found strength in her faith. “From the bottom of my heart, I want to say a very big thank you to everybody across the world. I’m very grateful.
There’s a gospel song that goes, ‘You are the Most High God.’ I’ve accepted my fate. Today, I rise again. Not because the pain is gone but because I know Ayomikun will want me to.”
In a powerful declaration of resilience, Ogunmola announced her readiness to return to acting after a long break.
“My pressure calls, and it’s time for me to return back to the screen where I belong. To all filmmakers, directors, producers, and my industry colleagues, I’m back stronger and wiser. Let’s make magic again. Ise ya!” she added with renewed spirit.
