Controversial street-hop singer, Portable, has once again stirred the internet after turning down a ₦1 million gift from cryptocurrency entrepreneur Blord, insisting that such an amount was too small for his status.
In a now-viral video circulating across social media platforms, the Zazuu Zeh crooner thanked Blord for supporting and promoting his newly released track dedicated to social critic VeryDarkMan but quickly demanded a bigger gesture in return.
“Blord, God bless you for promoting my song, but give me car. I’m more than ₦1 million. Give me car and you’ll be more famous. I support you,” Portable said, in his usual expressive and dramatic tone.
The musician, known for his eccentric personality and outspoken behavior, argued that giving him a car or ₦1 billion would not only reflect his true worth but also boost Blord’s reputation and fame. According to him, such an act would attract even more attention to the businessman and prove his generosity on a larger scale.
Blord had earlier announced plans to reward Portable with ₦1 million after the singer mentioned him in his new song. However, Portable rejected the offer outright, describing it as insignificant and unworthy of his name. “Give me one billion, I will appreciate you. I’m bigger than one million,” he boldly declared.
In the video, Portable appeared to be in high spirits, surrounded by friends and fans, as he made his demand in a half-playful, half-serious manner. His exaggerated expressions and confident demeanor quickly caught the attention of fans online, making the clip spread rapidly across X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram.
As usual, social media users had plenty to say about the singer’s latest antics. While some found his comments amusing, others criticized him for being ungrateful and unrealistic. One user wrote, “You never see money, you dey ask for increase. Greedy goat.”
Another commented mockingly, “Oya press am ₦1 billion. Shebi you talk say you be billionaire, ₦1 billion suppose small for you.”
Some fans, however, defended Portable, suggesting that he might be joking or using the situation to stay in the news. A comment read, “This guy sabi how to trend. He knows one small video can make him go viral, so he always delivers drama.”
A few also pointed out that Portable’s demand was in line with his well-known persona — loud, unpredictable, and constantly seeking attention. They argued that even when he seems controversial, he manages to turn every situation into free publicity.
This is not the first time Portable has been involved in dramatic exchanges with wealthy individuals or fellow celebrities. His pattern of using online outbursts to remain relevant has earned him both criticism and admiration. While many condemn his attitude, others see him as a master of self-promotion who knows how to turn controversy into fame.
Despite the backlash, Portable continues to thrive on attention, using his unfiltered personality to sustain his popularity. His ability to create buzz with every statement, song, or social media post has made him one of the most talked-about figures in Nigeria’s entertainment scene.
Whether or not Blord responds with a bigger gift remains to be seen, but one thing is certain — Portable has once again succeeded in dominating headlines and sparking conversations across social media, proving that in his world, controversy remains a powerful currency.
