Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, has broken her silence on why she has chosen not to respond to fellow actress Lizzy Anjorin’s repeated outbursts, curses, and alleged defamatory statements directed at her family.
In a heartfelt post shared on Instagram on Sunday, Iyabo explained that the past few months have been a delicate period for her family, especially with the arrival of her first grandchild. She revealed that while the verbal attacks have been hurtful, she made a deliberate choice to stay quiet and focus on her family’s wellbeing rather than engage in public drama.
“I’ve seen all your DMs, voice notes, and questions about my silence despite all the defamatory statements, insults, death wishes, and curses aimed at my family, especially my grandson. Honestly, I struggle to hold my peace, but sometimes silence is necessary. Who God has blessed, no one can curse,” she wrote.
Iyabo disclosed that her legal team is actively monitoring the situation and keeping records of all the statements made against her and her family.
She stressed that while she has avoided direct confrontation online, her lawyers are already preparing to take the necessary steps to address the matter legally. According to her, a proper response will come at the right time, especially once she returns to Lagos.
The actress also reassured her fans and well-wishers that her silence should not be mistaken for weakness, noting that she is prioritizing her daughter Priscilla, her newborn grandson, and her family’s peace.
“The past few months have been about welcoming my grandson, supporting my daughter through motherhood, and ensuring our family is fine. That’s where my energy is right now,” she explained.
Iyabo further expressed gratitude to her supporters who have reached out with messages of concern and encouragement.
She appealed to them to remain patient and trust her judgment, promising that justice will be sought at the right time. “My lawyers are on it, and they’re documenting everything. For now, I choose peace and family over public battles,” she added.
