Afrobeats star Iyanya has paid tribute to the victims of the recent violence in Benue State with a special song, expressing solidarity and offering heartfelt prayers to those affected.
The humanitarian gesture follows distressing reports that over 200 people were killed in an attack on Yelewata, located in Guma Local Government Area of the state — a tragedy that has sparked renewed concern across the country.
Sharing a video of the tribute on his X page, the singer wrote, “We are praying for the people of Benue.”
In the emotional clip, Iyanya addressed the people of Benue directly:
“I want to dedicate this song to all people of Benue State. It’s a trying time for the whole country because we all share your pain. I pray God comforts everybody who lost a friend or brother, mother, father, family member. God will intervene.”
He also urged survivors and grieving families to hold on to their faith, expressing hope that brighter days would follow the sorrow.
