Popular content creator and hype man, Egungun of Lagos, has opened up about a life-changing moment he experienced recently—thanks to none other than Davido, Nigeria’s beloved superstar and Afrobeats icon.
In a recent video shared on his page, Egungun revealed that he had been trying to connect with Davido for over four years with no success. But as fate would have it, the stars finally aligned.
According to him, during the shooting of their recent video together, he casually mentioned to Davido that his wife had just given birth. In response, Davido smiled and jokingly said he should name the baby “David.” That moment alone, Egungun said, showed how cool and down-to-earth Davido is.
“He’s so cool, simple and relaxed,” Egungun shared. “This is someone I’ve been trying to reach out to for four years. When he realized that, he invited me over to his house, and we did the video. He’s so real and doesn’t form.”
But that wasn’t all. Egungun also had glowing things to say about how Davido treats those around him.
“He has people who have worked with him for over 15 years. They are still loyal. That tells you everything about the kind of man he is.”
Egungun couldn’t hide his joy when he revealed that the video shoot with Davido—done using the singer’s luxurious Maybach—has already started unlocking major opportunities, from brand deals to fresh partnerships.
“Just that one link-up has changed so many things for me. It has opened doors. This man is all love. 001 forever!”
