Justice Nyako Grants Request To Transfer Bright Chimezie Ishinwa From DSS Custody To Kuje Prison
It has been reported that the Nigerian government(prosecutor) filed another amended charges against the defendants Benjamin Madubugwu, David Nwawusi and Chidiebere Onwudiwe.The new amended charges according to information is supposed to have been filed at least two weeks before the court sitting today.
Because of the new amended charges, the defendants (Benjamin Madubugwu, David Nwawusi and Chidiebere Onwudiwe) took a plea of not guilty to the charges and the defending council Bar. Ejiofor requested for two days to study in dept the amended charges.
In a another development, the lawyer to Bright Chimezie Ishinwa requested from the court to allow his client to be transferred from DSS custody to Kuje prison. The judge, Binta Nyako however granted that request, hence this evening Bright Chimezie Ishinwa would be taken from DSS custody to the prison, along with the rest of his brothers.
The matter was adjourned till Thursday, 22nd March, 2018 for the defending council Bar. Ejiofor and team, to study in details the amended charges.
The defendants are facing charges related to involvement with various IPOB activities.
