48 Suspects Arrested; Fake US Dollars Equivalent To N490 Million Recovered From Them

Niger state police detectives  has paraded 48 suspects who were arrested for crimes such as kidnapping, armed robbery, car snatching, cattle rustling and fabrication of locally made prohibited/illegal firearms. The criminals have confessed to the crimes and roles played in the commission of the crime.

According to a reliable information, the suspects are reported to be responsible for terrorizing the FCT, Niger, Kaduna, Plateau, Katsina, Nasarawa and Zamfara states prior to their arrest. 

Assorted exhibits were recovered from them:

i. Thirty Five (35) Exotic Cars

ii. Five (5) AK47 Rifles

iii. Three (3) Pump Action Guns

iv. Two (2) Single Barrel Guns

v. Three (3) SMG​ Rifles

vi. One (1) Revolver Pistol

vii. Two (2) Locally Made Pistols

viii. 822 Rounds of AK47 ammunition
ix. 68 9MM ammunition

x. Four (4) Live Cartridges.

xi. Five (5) Plasma TV Sets

xii. One (1) Home Theatre Radio

xiii. Seven (7) Vehicle Trackers Demobilizes

xiv. Seven (7) Wrist Watches

xv. Two (2) Laptops
xvi. 22 Women Wrappers.

xvii. Four (4) Different Vehicle Number Plates

xviii. One (1) Standing Fan

xix. Huge Sums of suspected fake US Dollars equivalent to about N490 Million
The Police is still carrying out further investigation into the matter so as to arrest fleeing members of the gangs who are still at large. The Police also disclosed that all suspects will be charged to court as soon as  investigation is concluded. 

The Niger State Police Headquarters has urged members of the public who may have lost their car to proceed to the command for identification and collection with documents of proof of ownership.
